Urban Decay The Black Palette

I know that I have been a Hardcore Mac Lover for a very Long time; but I think it's time to explore new things.
I've been tempted in buying UD eyeshadows since I've read very good reviews about them.
So I decided to give them a try.
My First exploring item is
TADAAAA!

Urban Decay The Black Palette
Product Description
Eyeshadows dipped in black. Dangerous sparkly-shift jewel tones plus sooty matte black shadow assure your place in rockstar history.

My Opinion
For all you Smokey Eye Lovers this is for you.
For a dramatic look these are perfect.
These eyeshadows as they are described, they are dipped in black but have a sparkly very fined glittery finish. They are silky smooth, easy to work with.
Great color pigmentation and lasting power.
Look even better if used with a color base to pop it's hidden color.
I purchased this palette because I missed the Mac Venomous Villains Collection.
I really liked the Maleficent MSF ES's and I thought these can be a close match to them.
Everytime I think of MSE I think way too much shimmer and fallout. Although the previous MSE like the ones from In the Groove Collection were actually not too shimmery at all, I actually liked them. This is why I was so bummed out about missing the Venomous Collection. :(
But these UD are very nice after all.

Cons-To me it is a great palette for a dramatic smokey eye lover, but if I don't use these colors with a color base to make the colors pop, my eyeshadow will turn into a completely black look. =(
If anyone has any tips on how to use this palette, Pleaseee Let Me know..
I am tempted in taking it back.

Item Descriptions
Black Dog-Deep Dark Black very matte
Barracuda-Blackened gunmetal w/silver tones
Jet-Dark-Deep Purple w/pink-red shimmer. Not the purple I was looking for though.
Sabbath-Dark Blue with blue specs
Cobra-Golden Olive w/gold specs I like this color alot.
Libertine-Dark Deep Green w/green specs reminds me of my Mac Grand Entrance from The Holiday Collection Warm Eyes 2008
UDPP in Eden- I really LOOVED this primer as its texture is like a concealer and it just creates a good canvas for your eyeshadow. My eyeshadow lasted all day and it was kept intact. I will buy a full sized one ASAP.
UD 24/7 glide-on eye pencil in Zero- This was easy to apply but the color pigmentation wasn't that great for me. This was a bummer because I heard so many great things about this liner.
I still prefer and will stick to my Avon Dual Ended Liner.

Thanks for Stopping by and I hope this review was helpful

  4. I have this palette, an I also agree it does tend to look black.
When I use it I apply the primer then apply a similar colour to one I am using out of the palette for example, if I was going to use 'Jet' I would use a purple first. I like to use Urban Decay's 'book of shadows vol 3' the colours are very nice and match the colours in the black palette.
    I hope this helps :) x
